“As a 36 year old mom of 4 I’m often asked the question, “Wait, you do CrossFit?” It’s a common misconception that CrossFit is only for the elite athletes seen at the CrossFit Games. I came to CrossFit postpartum hoping to get back in shape after the obvious weight challenges associated with having children, but what I found was a whole new approach to fitness with a community who supported me.
The community at TEAM U makes working out both fun and fulfilling. The coaches care about the success of their athletes, made obvious in the time and attention they give us both during and after class.
CrossFit is hard, challenging, and life-changing. As a mother, I pride myself that I can now do things I never could do before, even when I was a D1 athlete. The TEAM has elevated me as an athlete by seeing me as an individual. The coaches understand my background as an athlete, my current level of fitness, and they see past my self-imposed limitations to motivate me so I can reach my potential.”
